for English giants Manchester city was nominated along side forty young footballers across Europe.
The former Nigeria U-17 player, joined City's academy on 10th January 2014. Before the 2014-15 season he joined Man city pre-season tour scoring 2 goals against Sporting Kansas city and AC Milan. He went on to score against Roma in the 2015 International Champions cup, and also assited Raheem Sterling's goal in the same match. Iheanacho was promoted to City's senior squad after an impressive pre-season tour. Iheanacho scored his first competitive goal against Crystal palace in a league game after coming on as a replacement for Raheem Sterling on 12th September.
The golden boy award is an award that is given by sport journalist to a young football player playing in Europe perceived to have been the most impressive during the season. All nominees most be under the age of 21 and most play in Europe's top leagues. We hope the Nigerian International wins the award.
